March is here and my aunt just happened to bring me some limes and oranges from her beach house in the Peloponnese. As you can understand, I had to make a sweet recipe with these fragrant citrus fruit. This sweet cream that I am sharing with you is so delicious!

It is so easy to make and it literally takes no time except for the part that you have to wait for an hour in the beginning. After that, it is done in less than 5 minutes. The original recipe uses double cream and caster sugar. To be honest, I wanted to go light this time, so I made a few changes and I replaced the sugar with stevia sweetener and the double cream with the renowned greek yoghurt. I made some alterations in the original proportions too. So, I actually made a new recipe.
It is very refreshing and it can be ideally combined with coffee or you can have it after a heavy meal to clean your palate. It has a strong lime-orange flavor and that's what makes it so earthy and delicate. I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I do. Let's go straight to the recipe, shall we?
Lime Orange Cream
makes 3 martini glasses
Zest of 1 large orange
Zest of 2 limes
4 tablespoons white wine
9 gr. stevia
sweetener in powder form
350 gr Greek
yoghurt
¼ teaspoon
vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Combine the
zest of the orange and the limes with the white wine in a small bowl. Let it
soak for 1 hour minimum. Then, drain it and keep the juice.
2. In another
bowl, combine the yoghurt, the stevia and the vanilla extract. Mix them well.
Add the juice and stir until well absorbed. Divide the mixture into 3-4 martini
glasses (or small bowls) and put them in the fridge for 1-2 hours.
Note: the
mixture can be used as a filling cream in many sweet recipes.
